Edibles can be a delightful experience, or they can be a nightmare. With cannabis legalization throughout Canada and most states, more people try edible marijuana.

As some view edibles as a healthier option over smoking them.

Edibles Brain

Eating pot delivers the brain a very different experience than smoking it.

When you eat pot, you are changing the chemical compounds found in it called cannabinoids.

Smoking weed heats it to about 800 degrees Celsius and converts THCA into Delta-9 THC, which binds to brain receptors that fire continuously, allowing your imagination, thoughts, and ideas to magnify.

This is why every thought may seem significant as it travels from your lungs into the bloodstream and enters your brain. The drug works rapidly within minutes and lasts approximately two to three hours.

The pot is heated to about 150 degrees Celsius to make edibles that burn more minor of the plant and minimize carcinogens. The activated THC has to be dissolved in oil or fat like butter as it is not water-soluble.

Once an edible is consumed, the onset of the high is slightly delayed as it is absorbed slowly through your gut biome, and the effects can last 4 to 8 hours. Most report feeling higher over smoking pot.

When you eat an edible, the THC is first metabolized by your liver before allowing it to enter your bloodstream Delta-9 THC is converted into 11-OH-THC, which passes the blood-brain barrier, which is a much more potent chemical and is absorbed more rapidly.

Edibles to Smokable

Comparing one gram worth of smokable weed to one gram turned into an edible, you get much more stoned off of the edible. In addition, eating weed creates a few different cannabinoids, such as Delta-9 THC and 11-OH-THC, a more potent molecule. As a result, more psychotropic cannabinoids acting on your neurons will be impaired for much longer.

When taking an edible, you bypass the harmful chemicals created through smoking it, like carbon monoxide, tumour initiators, and bronchial irritants.

Smoking anything means you are inhaling cancer-causing agents. So, if one can get ripped without smoking weed, it will be much healthier for your body and lungs.

Although on edibles, it will be much more complicated on how high you get as it can take up to two hours before the edible entirely sends you off into orbit. But overindulging won’t give you any serious health issues like other drugs such as alcohol and opioids.

Start with what you think you should take and take a quarter of that amount, wait two hours, and take more if needed. Otherwise, you could end up like me, and I slept for 48 hours straight.
